Install OSOL 1002 124, 126, 127 on /dev/sdb1 (Linux box) and MBR status
124,126 nicely placed Solaris Grub stage 2 in /dev/sdb1 kept MBR untouched 127 place Solaris Grub stage 1 into MBR , so i had to run "linux rescue" and "grub-install /dev/sda". -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Not exactly. MBR stays safe. After initial reboot ( after install) regular kernel trademard shows up . Looks like MBR has been rewriten. But pressing "RESET" button at this point loads original grub menu (Linux) with old entry for OSOL , which is obviously still good:- title OSOL 1002 (previews) rootnoverify (hd1,0) chainloader +1 -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

You can do a reboot -p to reboot with reset. MRJ
