I have got my win2k8 vm running with the attached config file (fresh install). But there are no hyper-V or so stuff, just the normal qemu nerv which produces single thread cpu load in dom0 => not really fast. So has someone tried it with success? Or do I have to change some thing? Florian

Or let it turn around how could I determine that my win2k8 has detected that viridian is available? And what should be the benefit? Howto get the enlightenment stuff running and what will it give me currently? para-virtual io? regards, Florian Am 29.06.2009 13:55, schrieb Florian Manschwetus:> Am 29.06.2009 13:50, schrieb Mark Johnson: >> >> >> Florian Manschwetus wrote: >>> I have got my win2k8 vm running with the attached config file (fresh >>> install). >> >> so the problem you had earlier was with the maxmem and memory >> setting? > looks like. >> >> >> >>> But there are no hyper-V or so stuff, >> >> Not sure what you mean by this? There might be a way to check it in win2k8 itself too, but I wouldn''t know offhand. Right now, the hyper-v enlightenments as implemented by Xen don''t provide you with all that much, although they are useful items. There are three items: 1) APIC access through MSRs (could be a win for 32bit Windows), 2) Windows will give up the VCPU when it spins too long on a lock (useful for busy systems where VCPUs are fighting for physical CPUs), 3) Windows will relax its timer checks (avoids the dreaded bug check 0x101 BSOD). - Frank

There just needs to be an additional script file.. i.e., you would do something like... phy:san:/<lun>/<guid>/ and create a script file "/usr/lib/xen/scripts/vbd-san" which looked similar to /usr/lib/xen/scripts/vbd-iscsi. i.e. the backend will look for dynamic-device-path before looking at params. Then you wouldn''t have to worry about controller numbers etc during migration. MRJ
