How to install a Solarix xVM over OpenSolaris 2008.05
In the past Sun used to distribute Solaris Express Developer Edition, which contained all one might wish for: OpenSolaris, Solaris xVM, Sun Studio, etc. Now Sun is phazing out the SXDE program (as noted here: http://developers.sun.com/sxde/) and instead providing just the OpenSolaris DVD. Unfortunately, once you install that one, there is no xVM, just OpenSolaris. My question is, is there an alternative bundle that is similar to SXDE? If not, how can I install xVM? Only by compiling from sources? This message posted from opensolaris.org

You''ll still have the xVM option in grub after installation. I haven''t checked in a while, but I think the compilers are also shipped on that DVD, but aren''t installed by default. Look around the DVD and you should find a script you can run.
