It''s not possible for now since EC2 runs on a 32 bit PAE Xen
hypervisor, which would require a 32 bit PAE-enabled Xen port of Solaris (I
don''t think it''s in the roadmap). From my understanding, as
soon as Amazon moves toward a 64 bit Xen hypervisor, we should be able to run
OpenSolaris on EC2.

Since the last code drop to opensolaris, we *have* switched
to use PAE in 32 bit mode on Xen. That''s what will appear when
we integrate into mainstream Solaris in the not too distant
future.
