Hi, due to the fact that a disk image file for a Xen DomU is seen as disk by a the DomU it should be faster if this image file is on a filesystem with directio (no caching) in the Dom0. Is this correct? What about logging ? Should I switch logging on for the filesystem with disk images? regards Bernd This message posted from opensolaris.org
Hello, We have not measured the performance impact of enabling directio on the dom0 filesystem but I doubt that it will have much of a positive effect due to presence of the loopback file driver (lofi) which is used to export the file image as a block device. As for logging, it is enabled by default in Solaris 10 so it should already be there. - john This message posted from opensolaris.org
