[Ocfs2-users] Not able to see OCFS disk on both nodes
I have been trying to get OCFS2 set up on 2 linux boxes that I have so I can install RAC. What I want to do: Server 1 I have a 200G drive I would like to share with server 2. Install OCFS2 and run RAC using these two servers. What I have been able to do: I have been able to install OCFS2 successfully on both nodes. Define a partition on Server 1 disk and format it using OCFS2. Mount partition on Server 1. What I have not been able to do: Mount the partition mentioned above on server 2. Questions: I am not real clear on how the cluster has to be set up. I thought I could: 1. Have the two server set up on my network configure so they could talk to each other. 2. Install OCFS2 on both nodes. 3. Create a partition on server 1 with the OCFS2 tool. 4. Mount the disk on both servers. I am thinking there is more I have to do to cluster the two servers so they can share file systems before I install and configure OCFS. Is there anyone who could tell me if: 1. I can do this with a disk that is physically on one server or do I have to have a separate networked storage device? 2. I need something else other that OCFS. Any help would be appreciated. You might be able to get this working by exporting the disk from the first server to the second with some kind of network block device package. Look into iSCSI, gnbd, etc. Setting those up is a bit beyond the scope of ocfs2-users. - z
