[Ocfs2-users] ocfs 2.0 for upcoming redhat4 update2 beta
There is a prebuilt and supported ocfs-2 rpm for Kernel 2.6.9-11.ELsmp (Redhat 4.0 U1 - 64 Bit AMD64/EM64T Kernel) Unfortunately at that RH4U1 Version iscsi is not working nor supported. So for iscsi i use 2.6.9-17.ELsmp (from Redhat Network Beta Kernel of upcomming RHEL4U2). With that iscsi works fine, but when i try to install the ocfs-2 rpm i get: [root@magellanic ocfs]# rpm -ivh ocfs2-2.6.9-11.0.0.10.3.ELsmp-1.0.4-1.x86_64.rpm error: Failed dependencies: kernel-smp = 2.6.9-11.0.0.10.3.EL is needed by ocfs2-2.6.9-11.0.0.10.3.ELsmp-1.0.4-1.x86_64 So the ocfs rpm wants to have the original RH4U1 Kernel. Any ideas how tho use ocfs2 on that beta Kernel from Redhat (of course not for production, only testing puposes) rgds Helmar

You will have to build the modules for the kernel you are using. We will release rpms for U2 when it is released.
