[Ocfs2-users] OCFS2: errors in load_ocfs2
Hi all, we are starting to evaluate ocfs2 for a possible RAC implement (SuSE Enterprise Sever 8, SP3). I have downloaded ocfs2 (rpm match my system) from oss.oracle.com and installed it. But it failed to load ocfs2 module. some basic info: adcdba3t:/sbin # uname -a Linux adcdba3t 2.4.21-198-smp #1 SMP Thu Mar 11 17:56:49 UTC 2004 i686 unknown adcdba3t:/sbin # rpm -qa|grep ocfs ocfs-support-1.1.2-1 ocfs-tools-1.1.2-1 ocfs2-2.4.21-198-smp-1.9.92-1 adcdba3t:/sbin # cat /etc/ocfs.conf # # ocfs config # Ensure this file exists in /etc # node_name = rac1_priv2 ip_address = 10.0.0.2 ip_port_v2 = 7000 comm_voting = 1 guid = AF53A8222D3E4C75EAEB000347B35622 mkfs.ocfs2 -b 128 -C -g 11 -u 208 -L ohome -m /home/dba/oracle/product -p 0755 /dev/sdb1 -F adcdba3t:/sbin # load_ocfs2 /sbin/insmod ocfs2 node_name=rac1_priv2 ip_address=10.0.0.2 cs=1820 guid=AF53A8222D3E4C75EAEB000347B35622 comm_voting=1 ip_port_v2=7000 Using /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_destroy_Rsmp_ef18b0aa /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_start_Rsmp_caf7ff3c /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_flush_Rsmp_d757c333 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_init_inode_Rsmp_de2e2343 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_forget_Rsmp_15bbdc63 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_force_commit_Rsmp_b1b31cca /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_errno_Rsmp_97efc746 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_ack_err_Rsmp_439b7d53 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_stop_Rsmp_7a41b5ff /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_bmap_Rsmp_014f250e /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_unlock_updates_Rsmp_a3327a0a /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_get_write_access_Rsmp_7408aafa /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_dirty_metadata_Rsmp_2c4d7b1d /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_wipe_Rsmp_b6c9ffcd /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_update_superblock_Rsmp_7e812ec7 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_clear_err_Rsmp_cab7dfa7 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_revoke_Rsmp_cd94b987 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_enable_debug_Rsmp_866ef208 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_lock_updates_Rsmp_c1f19611 /lib/modules/2.4.21-198-smp/kernel/drivers/addon/ocfs2/ocfs2.o: unresolved symbol journal_load_Rsmp_5b23e609 load_ocfs: insmod failed What did I do wrong? thanks Jizhong Wang Database Administrator Whirlpool Corporation 269-923-3695 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Hello, When you do this, can you check whether you have the "JBD" module loaded? If you do an "lsmod" as root you should see it show up as "jbd". If it's not loaded, you might try loading it before loading ocfs ("insmod jbd"). --Mark On Wed, May 26, 2004 at 12:53:58PM -0400, Jizhong_Wang@whirlpool.com wrote:> > Hi all, > > we are starting to evaluate ocfs2 for a possible RAC implement (SuSE Enterprise > Sever 8, SP3). This is the problem. thanks a lot Should the post-script of ocfs2.rpm or load_ocfs2 checks and loads this as a prerequsite? it has not been mentioned anywhere Jizhong Wang Database Administrator Whirlpool Corporation 269-923-3695 Mark Fasheh <mark.fasheh@oracle.com> 05/26/2004 06:31 PM Please respond to Mark Fasheh To: Jizhong_Wang@whirlpool.com cc: ocfs2-users@oss.oracle.com Subject: Re: [Ocfs2-users] OCFS2: errors in load_ocfs2 Hello, When you do this, can you check whether you have the "JBD" module loaded?
