All, We are pleased to announce the release of OCFS2 1.6. The file system is bundled with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel that is available for Oracle Linux 5. REFLINKs, indexed directories, metadata checksums, extended attributes, POSIX ACLs, JBD2 support, allocation reservations, user and group quotas and discontiguous block groups. Refer to the user's guide for the complete description of all the features. UPGRADE Users wishing to upgrade to the new release must logon to the Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN) and subscribe to the "Oracle Linux 5 Latest" channel. # up2date kernel # up2date oracle-linux # up2date ocfs2-tools ocfs2console Unlike in previous releases, the kernel component of the file system is bundled with the kernel rpm itself. The user only needs to upgrade the kernel and the ocfs2-tools (and if needed, ocfs2console) to get started. Use "modinfo ocfs2" to check the version of the file system. COMPATIBILITY This file system is fully compatible with OCFS2 Release 1.4. One can upgrade nodes running release 1.4 to release 1.6 in a rolling manner.
