[Ocfs2-announce] OCFS2 1.2.8-2 for RHEL4 and RHEL5 released
All, We are pleased to announce the release of OCFS2 1.2.8-2 for RHEL4 and RHEL5 on x86, x86_64, ppc64 and ia64 architectures. Some of the changes in this release are as follows: * Fix for bug#6680001. This concerns a possible dlm freeze after a node death recovery. This bug is only in 1.2.7-1 and not in the earlier releases. We regret this error. 1.2.7-1 users should plan to upgrade to 1.2.8-2 as soon as possible. * Fix for bug#6531210. This concerns a very tight race between rename and unlink that results in an oops. * Performance fix. Jan Kara of Novell provided this fix that leads to lower cpu usage during allocations. We thank him for his contribution. For more, please refer to the news. http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2/news/article_17.html For instructions on upgrading, please refer to the FAQ. http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2/dist/documentation/ocfs2_faq.html#UPGRADE Note: Users looking to upgrade to 1.2.8-2 from 1.2.5 or earlier releases should also upgrade the tools to OCFS2 Tools 1.2.7-1. http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2-tools All patch fixes in this release have been provided to Novell and should be available soon for download with SLES10 SP1 and SLES9 SP4 kernels.
