[Nut-upsdev] WG: Question regarding Mini UPS FX 5-12 Pro
Hey i have a quesiton regarding NUT compability: i asked a manufacturer about whether his product is compatible or not and this was his answer: (p.s. im trying to find a 12V UPS that has specs along the lines as the one mentioned in the email that can also trigger the NUT pugin on my openmediavault server (running on a RockPro64 SBC with 12V)) I assume the answer the manufacturer gave means no? Thank you for reading! ________________________________ Von: Shanqiu <support at hgdups.com> Gesendet: Mittwoch, 2. They call it UPS but actually it is just a power bank with multiple options for power out. Hence no, it is not supported. wolfy> Thank you for reading! > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > *Von:* Shanqiu <support at hgdups.com> > *Gesendet:* Mittwoch, 2. [Nut-upsdev] WG: Question regarding Mini UPS FX 5-12 Pro
Hello Fabian, you got the wrong answer because of your question ;-) NUT does not have its own protocol, but rather speaks the various protocols of the manufacturers (blazer, belkin, mge, microdowell, riello and so on) or generic protocols (SNMP or usbid-ups). https://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html In my opinion it is very common, to communicate with the UPS Power Device by HID-compliant-protocol:It https://www.usb.org/sites/default/files/pdcv10.pdf If you are interested in doing it yourself, you will find a lot of information on the internet: https://create.arduino.cc/projecthub/abratchik/hid-compliant-ups-with-arduino-75198c Beste Gr??e von Halle (Saale) nach Hamburg Carsten -- Dipl. One of these may fit, they should all support the USB HID protocol, OpenUPS is listed on the NUT HCL. The first (OpenUPS) supports various battery configurations so is the most flexible. https://www.mini-box.com/OpenUPS?sc=8&category=1264 https://www.mini-box.com/OpenUPS2?sc=8&category=1264 https://www.mini-box.com/NUC-UPS?sc=8&category=1264 On Wed, 2 Feb 2022 15:53:39 +0000 "Grage, Fabian" <Fabian.Grage at uni-hamburg.de> wrote:> Hey i have a quesiton regarding NUT compability: i asked a manufacturer about whether his product is compatible or not and this was his answer: > (p.s. im trying to find a 12V UPS that has specs along the lines as the one mentioned in the email that can also trigger the NUT pugin on my openmediavault server (running on a RockPro64 SBC with 12V)) > > I assume the answer the manufacturer gave means no? > > Thank you for reading! > > > ________________________________ > Von: Shanqiu <support at hgdups.com> > Gesendet: Mittwoch, 2.
