[Nut-upsdev] NUT - Network UPS Tools Augeas lenses availability
Hi David, Raphael and the Augeas list, just a small note to mention that NUT - Network UPS Tools lenses are available, since NUT 2.6.0 release. These are included in the official release, in the scripts/augeas directory: http://www.networkupstools.org/download.html http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/nut/trunk/scripts/augeas/#_trunk_scripts_augeas_ The reason to ship these with NUT is simple: NUT is focused on hardware support, which is always evolving. New drivers appears, older are replaced... And with these comes configuration options. The ups.conf file is so regenerated at distribution time, by extracting automatically all drivers options, up to date with the release. A chapter of the developer guide is also dedicated to explaining the use of NUT lenses and Augeas: http://www.networkupstools.org/docs/developer-guide.chunked/ar01s06.html As a side note, NUT sources also ships language bindings. The closer these are, the more we are sure these are up to date ;-) A last thank to Raphael Pinson, who initiated and did a great part of the job. And a big thank to David and you all for Augeas. cheers, Arnaud -- Linux / Unix Expert R&D - Eaton - http://powerquality.eaton.com Network UPS Tools (NUT) Project Leader - http://www.networkupstools.org/ Debian Developer - http://www.debian.org Free Software Developer - http://arnaud.quette.free.fr/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Shipping lenses with upstream releases is by far the preferred way of distributing lenses, since it ensures that the lens and the config file format are in accordance with each other. David
