Nut upsdev - Jun 2006 - Nut 2.1 vs the resilient Powerware 9170+

I figured out why nut seemed to segfault at startup from my Solaris
boxes (and snmp-ups too) - I believe that nut is trying to use some MIBs
that do not exist on my particular PW9170, for whatever reason.  It dies
on my Linux box too, complaining like this:

Commenting out references to those MIBs in pwmib.h (in the pw_mib
structure) seems to make everything work, although I haven't tested out
shutdowns and monitoring and the like, so it could just be surface.

I snmpwalked the UPS, and indeed, it doesn't appear to have those MIBs:

SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.33.1.2.3.0 = INTEGER: 10
SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.33.1.2.5.0 = INTEGER: 1329

(skips 1.2.4) - I don't see any of the 534.* OIDs at all.  I freely
admit that I could be doing something wrong with snmpwalk - this is
honestly my first real exposure to SNMP-stuff.  The latter number is
defined as PW_OID_AMBIENT_TEMP, so I don't care so much about that - the
room in which the UPS lives is temperature monitored anyway - but the
other is PW_OID_BATTERY_CHARGE_REMAINING, which does worry me a bit,
although there's BATTERY_MINUTES_REMAINING to help out with that anyway.

At any rate, is it possible to have those MIBs go unchecked if a PW 9170
UPS is detected?  They seemed to work on the 9125 I was originally testing.

Or I'd be willing to poke around some more, if that would be helpful to
Niels / whoever else.  I'm just throwing it out, in case it's useful to
anybody else.

As a point of reference, the SNMP card in the UPS had been running the
3.14 firmware; I upgraded it to 3.20 yesterday in the hopes that would
fix the problem, but it didn't help at all.
