Hi, While I'm recompiling, testing and hoping the server won't hang anymore, I was also analyzing the logs. For certain zones, I see this in nsd.log: [2022-09-16 17:08:59.096] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:09:10.104] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:09:21.113] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:09:32.120] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:09:43.129] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:09:54.140] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:10:05.148] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:10:16.156] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:10:27.164] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:10:38.171] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:10:49.181] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:11:00.188] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 [2022-09-16 17:11:11.196] nsd[80483]: error: xfrd: zone myzone.be received error code SERVFAIL from 1.2.3.4 Now the zone was no longer correctly configured on the master dns server, but the soa on file for nsd is this: 2012062710 7200 300 86400 3600 And if I read correctly, the XFR should then be retried every 300 seconds, but in the logs I see a xfr retry every 11 seconds. ?A colleague did execute "nsd-control force_transfer" yesterday, but since then we restarted nsd already a number of times. So why every 11 seconds (I'm going to assume in reality this is 10 seconds with some additional delay)?
