nsd users - Jan 2018 - doubling memory usage?

It has been reported that nsd 4.1.19 uses double the memory of 4.16 in
the same configuration. Is this known and/or expected?

Both configs used no disk db files

User submitted config uses database.

    database: "/etc/nsd/db/nsd.db"
