I was using Chrome when my display froze (the mouse still worked, but otherwise
the screen was non-responsive).  After SSHing in, the following messages were
in /var/log/syslog (dmesg wasn't helpful because the kernel message buffer
had

A few potentially interesting notes:
 - I routinely hit the following bug (and I hit it when rebooting after this
crash):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1684123
 - The GetVSyncParametersIfAvailable log messages occurred 160,000 times over
the course of four hours, and occurred directly before and directly after this
issue (as can be seen in the log output above)
