crashing X
I've tested it with heads 30848dd378d05917c646a24df404846e6f9b2352 and
15ccf721791fa4f61784ad00449630c6d2496328.
When I move a window using the Alt key (on Gnome) and the window get past the
upper edge, X is crashing. I get back to the VT then GDM respawns.
It is reproducible will all types of applications: gnome-terminal, Tk,
Firefox...
I'm using a NV50 (GeForce 8400M GS).
I attach the log of the crashing X.
By the way, I've just noticed gnome-terminal is lighting fast now, I address
a
big thank you to the team.

You're running in shadowfb mode, which means software acceleration.
This is probably a result of lacking the kernel modules.
Without a proper backtrace it's hard to tell what is the problem, it may
very
well not be a nouveau problem. gdb can probably get a better backtrace.

http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20065 --- Comment #2 from Herv? Cauwelier <debian at oursours.net> 2009-02-11 09:51:38 PST --- You're right, the nouveau module is not loaded. I'm very surprised, I track both nouveau and drm using git. I'll first fix the module issue and come back. Sigh, I hope the sudden speed of gnome-terminal is not related to this. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.

You're right, I was not using the nouveau module. I've probably updated
the
kernel recently and forgot to overwrite the drm module.
Closing as I won't take the time to debug with gdb.
