I have not narrowed it down yet, but have been able to narrow it down to
differing kconfigs.
stracing gives me this failure
getsockopt(4, SOL_IP, IPT_SO_GET_INFO, 0x7fff867b2ba0, [84]) = -1 ECHILD (No
child processes)
and this when working
getsockopt(4, SOL_IP, IPT_SO_GET_INFO,
"nat\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0"...,
[84]) = 0
I'll attach kconfigs, and straces

I've also tested from git master. gcc 7.3.0 and 8.2.0. The error started
occuring with 4.20 kernels (with the failing kconfig).
