https://bugzilla.netfilter.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=494 ------- Additional Comments From M4rkusXXL@web.de 2006-07-25 02:07 MET ------- Created an attachment (id=256) --> (https://bugzilla.netfilter.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=256&action=view) bad hack: additional check and dynamic fix of include The patch adds a test for the new file (include/linux/netfilter/xt_condition.h) and if it exists, fix the libip*t_condition.c files to point to the correct file. Its very bad... but it works(tm) Dont know how it would normaly be done. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.netfilter.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

Well, pom gets the condition patch of the inet, I know, but the test-file is
included in the current iptables at
"iptables-1.3.5/extensions/.condition-test"
(and the iptables-lib for condition as well). And those are the files to be
fixed, because the kernel-module has been changed to the more generic xtables)
So iptables must be fixed... imho

Yes, iptables must be fixed -- but it must be fixed by the maintainer of that
external patch. Random changes made by an external maintainer which break
iptables should not be expected to be tracked by iptables maintainers.
(Arguably, libip*t_condition should not even be part of the iptables
distribution at this point)
Again, contact the maintainer:
# condition, maintained by Massimiliano Hofer <max@nucleus.it>
http://www.nucleus.it/pom-repo
and ask _HIM_ to submit a patch to make his patch work with current iptables.

Patch to iptables to use the new xt includes.
This patch updates iptables to use the new kernel include files used in the XT
version of condition.
I also impreved the parameters sanity checks in order to match the latest
kernel version.

The patch I just attached should solve the problem.
It also makes it incompatible with older kernels. Is this a bug?
