      Thanks for your update. My suggestion is that focus on bringing
complete API,
      before implementing command line utilities. Maybe small proof of
concept example
      would be fine for new comers. If you provide API that implement ssh,
sftp and scp
      functionality with complete test suite, then you have done a
enourmous favorite for ruby
      community. The next logical step would be drive net::ssh and needle
to ruby cvs.  It would
      gain more intrest and so on. Maybe even own chapter in PickAxe3 8).

      Anyway I''m waiting for 0.5 eagarly so I can see needle in
action...

Good point. I''ll hold off on implementing the command line utilities,
then. Even better--they would probably belong in their own deliverable.
Net::SSH itself will be *only* the library code.

On a related note: I''ve decided to refactor SFTP out into its own
library, as well. This means I can upgrade Net::SFTP independently of
Net::SSH. It also makes it easier for me to manage the rapidly
increasing complexity of the SFTP library.

Wouldn''t that be wonderful! I won''t hold my breath, but I must
admit

Look for it this week, hopefully! I won''t have Net::SFTP for another
week or two after that, unfortunately, but you''ll at least see the
Net::SSH stuff itself, threaded together with Needle.
