Yes, this is a really common problem with how rubygems compiles
extensions. It should fail when it can''t compile http11, but instead
just keeps going.

Yes, and actually it''s mostly a problem on the PPC platform. I solved
it by switching to the gcc 3.3 version and haven''t had any issues
since.
