[Mapstraction] Mapping and JavaScript Fans - Mapstraction v2.1 Release Candidate 1 Needs You
It''s been a while, March 2012 to be precise, but work is almost complete of the next release of the Mapstraction JavaScript Maps API. If you''re a mapping nerd (like me) or a JavaScript guru (not like me) and you''d like to test drive the first release candidate build then here''s how. If you want to self host the build, you can find it here: https://github.com/mapstraction/mxn/archive/v2.1-RC1.tar.gz. If you want to use GitHub as a (sort of) CDN, then the URL for the master Mapstraction source file is here: https://raw.github.com/mapstraction/mxn/release-2.1/source/mxn.js If you want to find out what''s changed, the change log for this version is here: https://github.com/mapstraction/mxn/wiki/Changelog Still to do is to update the documentation, the main mapstraction.com web site and the code sandbox. If you find a bug or a problem (and there''s been a lot of work done on this release candidate so things might break) then please get in touch in one of these ways: Submit a patch or a pull request with a fix on GitHub at https://github.com/mapstraction/mxn or ... Logging an issue on GitHub at https://github.com/mapstraction/mxn or ... Send an email with a description of the problem and a test case to mapstraction at lists.mapstraction.com (gentle hint: an email saying "it doesn''t work" and providing no more detail probably won''t get far). Finally, the functionality of Mapstraction for this release is pretty much fixed; there''ll only be code changes to fix bugs or problems from this point on until the release gets, err, released. But if you have functionality or feature requests, opening them as issues on GitHub is guaranteed to get my attention.
