[Mapstraction] heads up - mapstraction.com domain transfer
Hi everyone, I''m still somehow the owner/maintainer of the mapstraction.com domain name. I''m happy to continue to do that* but I''m taking all my business away from GoDaddy this week. I just initiated the transfer of mapstraction.com to iwantmyname.com - the change should be seamless from your perspective but in case you see anything funny with mapstraction.com DNS in the next few days that''s why. Please email me directly if you run into any issues regarding the domain name. Otherwise, carry on! Best, Tom. * unless... there''s a non-profit who could take this on with a reliable process for care-taking of domains? I''d happily donate the domain and some money if I could trust it would be maintained for the rest of the project''s useful life.

[Mapstraction] heads up - mapstraction.com domain transfer
I''m currently listening to Godaddy''s onhold music. Two weeks, 10+ calls, & countless escalations to get them to make my error logs readable by me. I''m experimenting with controlled fury (+ grim humor) as a way to get their attention. It can''t work worse than the last few approaches. Best of luck leaving them! Hope to emulate you soonest! Sorry to hear. It seems to be OK so far, once I wriggled out of the domains by proxy hold. Remembering five year old passwords = fun. Here''s the guide I followed, which skips the domains by proxy step I needed but otherwise saved me a few minutes squinting at all the "options" on GD''s control panel: http://www.good.is/post/how-to-leave-godaddy-com/page:2 Best, Tom. Thanks for info! I''m planning a move to the cloud as soon as I have a scratch version of my wiki up. This will help! John On Sep 26, 2011, at 11:52 PM, Tom Carden wrote:> Sorry to hear.
