Mapstraction - Jun 2010 - setOptions does not override existing options?

I''m just getting my hands dirty with Mapstraction (and I really like it
so
far).

But there is one thing, which is not clear for me at the moment: when I 
call setOptions(someConfig) on a map it appends the missing options to the 
existing map options but it seems that it does not override already 
existing options. Is this the desired behavior?
