Hi! My name is Pablo L?pez and I have been working with Mapstraction for more than a year. I''m working at IDELab <http://idelab.uva.es>, in the University of Valladolid <http://www.uva.es> (Spain). We think that Mapstraction is a cool option and we have opted for this library for all our developments. Our principal goals during this time has been: - Give the option to interact with the maps, creating, deleting or editing geometries dynamically - Developing the Mapstraction CCK module for Drupal and maintaining it - Collaborating with the refactorization of the Geocoding module - Working in the integration of new functionalities, like removeOverlay - ... However, any of our contributions has been integrated into the Mapstraction''s official release, and we offer our developments ans sources from our own SVN repository ( http://svn.idelab.uva.es/listing.php?repname=idelabmapstraction&path=%2Ftrunk%2Fidelabmapstraction%2F#path_trunk_idelabmapstraction_and http://dev.idelab.uva.es/idelabmapstraction/wiki/download). We would be very grateful if our work is merged with the rest of the library, in order to collaborate to improve it. We know that we should change some things in order to a complete integration, but we think that we can contribute to Mapstraction well and make it better choice for all map developers. We announced all this changes in the mail-list and merged into the git repository, but nobody has included it into the trunk or has been added to the svn repository at google code. Which is the way that we should follow to merge our developments?Should we change our way of working for a better integration? In recent months we have made this question several times but have never been answered. We believe that defining a good way to collaborate, which is clear and that really works is a good way to attract more developers and the library could be more successful. Thanks!! -- Saludos, Pablo L?pez Escob?s -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Hi Pablo, great that you guys are working on mapstraction. Clearly we would all benefit by working together. I suggest you a. get write access to the mapstraction svn hosted on google code. The only people who can allow this are unfortunately http://code.google.com/u/robert.moran/ http://code.google.com/u/dezfowler/ http://code.google.com/u/ajturner/ b. merge your changes in. I would love to see your enhancements in mapstraction and I''m sure I am not the only one. Please, make it happen. thanks, Ed 2010/5/19 Pablo L?pez Escob?s <plopesc at gmail.com>:> Hi! > > My name is Pablo L?pez and I have been working with Mapstraction for more > than a year. Hi Pablo, the demos are great. Very impressive and smooth. You should merge your code into the mapstraction svn I look forward to seeing it integrated. good luck, Ed 2010/5/19 Pablo L?pez Escob?s <plopesc at gmail.com>:> Hi! > > All our demos are available at: > http://mvn.idelab.uva.es/idelabmapstraction/interactive_examples > > Thanks > > -- > Saludos, > ??????? Hi Pablo, The git repository is being managed by Andrew Turner and he''s been very busy recently with the Haiti relief effort. Having two repositories isn''t ideal and it''s something we obviously need to look at if changes are slipping down the back of the sofa. Standardising on Git is probably the best option but we''ll have to get a consensus from folks on the list as to whether they''re happy to go with that. Just had a quick look at your fork and the stuff looks really good - will have a proper look tonight to see what needs doing before it goes into the main repository. I think we''re just looking at a few more jsdoc comments and adding your new files to the build.xml. Keep up the good work, we''ll get it into the library ASAP. Thanks, Derek 2010/5/19 Pablo L?pez Escob?s <plopesc at gmail.com>> Hi! > > My name is Pablo L?pez and I have been working with Mapstraction for more > than a year. 2010/5/19 Derek Fowler <dezfowler at gmail.com>:> Hi Pablo, > The git repository is being managed by Andrew Turner and he''s been very busy > recently with the Haiti relief effort.Hi Pablo - I apologize, I have indeed been busy and this is the first time I''ve even checked my personal email account since Friday. The Git Repository hasn''t been mirrored recently and as Derek points out the multiple repositories are confusing. I used Git because I can easily fork it into other projects and also to increase the library exposure. I can at least put in a clear notice for the time being that the live code is at the Google Code project. I won''t have bandwidth in the near future to look at the changes myself, so appreciate Derek and others in the community picking this up. There are a few people with Admin access to the Google Code project, but let me know if someone needs to be added or changed.
