[Mapstraction] Mapstraction License - BSD or GPL?
Hi guys, great initiative on Mapstraction. I''d like to include it as a bundled resource in an open source web framework I''m releasing shortly, and have a map control that uses it. However, my framework is licensed under Apache 2. The front page of Mapstraction says "Mapstraction is open-source and released under the BSD License. " (which would make it compatible). However on the Google code pages when I go to download the latest files it says the license is GPL 2 (which I can''t use). I want to make sure I can distribute this code before I bundle it. Thanks Nick Nick Kellett CEO / Co-Founder, Griffon Solutions Email: nick at griffonsolutions.com | Phone: +1 (819) 918-6097 SharePoint Blog: Planet MOSS - http://planetmoss.blogspot.com LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/nicholaskellett Twitter: @NickKellett or www.twitter.com/nickkellett
I also need to know conslusively which license we''re going with as I need to add it as part of the build process for v2. Mapstraction was developed under the MIT License. Essentially, use it however you wish, just leave in the copyright and credit the project and authors. I updated the Google project page to reflect this. Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy.
