Pamela pointed this idea out awhile ago - but finally got an evening to put it together. Check out the cloned Google-Ajax-API Playground, now Mapstraction API Sandbox: http://mapstraction.appspot.com/ The code is here: http://github.com/mapstraction/sandbox I''m still getting up to speed on AppEngine. Mostly the issues have been with how caching is happening (when do old versions of files expire). But overall, it''s very nice. And this Sandbox is particularly useful for showing off the project, running workshops, and testing out new demos. I put up a small number of demos - and none yet with the new API. See some of you at Where next week! Andrew
Yay, awesome. For caching of the static files, I think you can play with the "default_expiration" parameter in the app.yaml file. There are two files in there that aren''t in google code. Don''t want to end up having to maintain the code in two places so if you''re using github instead, I''ll use that too. This is awesome, Andrew. The only thing better than working demos are editable demos. --- Adam DuVander I like maps: http://mapscripting.com I like simple: http://adamduvander.com On May 16, 2009, at 9:54 PM, Andrew Turner wrote:> Pamela pointed this idea out awhile ago - but finally got an evening > to put it together. > > Check out the cloned Google-Ajax-API Playground, now Mapstraction > API Sandbox: > > http://mapstraction.appspot.com/ > > The code is here: http://github.com/mapstraction/sandbox > > I''m still getting up to speed on AppEngine. It''s checked out w/ git-svn, so can be pushed into the Google Code SVN when appropriate. What would be a neat addition to the AJAX API Playground would be the ability to track personal modifications across the group and submit back to the core - i.e. a front-end to git :)
