Lustre discuss - Mar 2011 - Clients upgrade from RHEL 5.4 to RHEL 5.6

Hello,

we have Lustre 1.8.2 configured on RHEL 5.4, clients running kernel version
2.6.18-164.el5. Selected set of clients will need to upgraded to RHEL 5.6,
kernel version 2.6.18-238.el5 due to other applications needs and bugfixes.
Lustre to stay at current version.

As it is not a certified/tested combination of versions, do you see any issues
running client of version 1.8.2 on RHEL 5.6?

You''ll have to rebuild your lustre rpms anyway, why not use 1.8.5? That
said
I''m guessing 1.8.2 will build and run on the 5.6 kernel too.
