Lustre discuss - Mar 2010 - mkfs.lustre fails (Cannot allocate memory)

Hi guys, I''m running centos5.2 and trying to get lustre 1.6.6 to run
but I
get this error when creating mdt/mgs:

# mkfs.lustre --fsname=lustre --mdt --mgs /dev/cciss/c0d1

I saw some discussion about this same problem and it was suggested to modify
the ldiskfs code. I can''t go with 1.8.2 or CentOS5.4. Can anyone help
with
this?

This is bug 17490 which has been fixed in 1.6.7 & 1.8.0.

You can apply the patch to 1.6.6 (only the ldiskfs rpm needs to be recompiled)
or just upgrade to 1.6.7.2.
