[Lustre-discuss] mkfs.lustre fails (Cannot allocate memory)
Hi guys, I''m running centos5.2 and trying to get lustre 1.6.6 to run but I get this error when creating mdt/mgs: # mkfs.lustre --fsname=lustre --mdt --mgs /dev/cciss/c0d1 Permanent disk data: Target: lustre-MDTffff Index: unassigned Lustre FS: lustre Mount type: ldiskfs Flags: 0x75 (MDT MGS needs_index first_time update ) Persistent mount opts: errors=remount-ro,iopen_nopriv,user_xattr Parameters: mdt.group_upcall=/usr/sbin/l_getgroups checking for existing Lustre data: not found device size = 34699MB 2 6 18 formatting backing filesystem ldiskfs on /dev/cciss/c0d1 target name lustre-MDTffff 4k blocks 0 options -J size=400 -i 4096 -I 512 -q -O dir_index,uninit_groups -F mkfs_cmd = mkfs.ext2 -j -b 4096 -L lustre-MDTffff -J size=400 -i 4096 -I 512 -q -O dir_index,uninit_groups -F /dev/cciss/c0d1 mkfs.lustre: Unable to mount /dev/cciss/c0d1: Cannot allocate memory mkfs.lustre FATAL: failed to write local files mkfs.lustre: exiting with 12 (Cannot allocate memory) I saw some discussion about this same problem and it was suggested to modify the ldiskfs code. I can''t go with 1.8.2 or CentOS5.4. Can anyone help with this? Syed -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... [Lustre-discuss] mkfs.lustre fails (Cannot allocate memory)
I looked for lustre 1.6.7 online and was redirected to Oracles page and this is what I get: The version of the product you requested is no longer available. Visit the Sun Download Center <http://www.sun.com/downloads> to see a full list of products that are currently available. If you require further assistance, report the product name and referring URL to Customer Service <https://www.sun.com/secure/contact/feedback/sdlc.jsp>. Thank you. Is there any other repo where I can get it from? This is quite urgent and any help is appreciated, Thanks!
