We are running Lustre 1.6.5 and we see the following behavior: When we generate a core dump from an executable the core file size is 0 bytes on Lustre. When we do this on our NFS filesystem on a ZFS filesystem there are no problems, core file size is non-zero. When we do this on our 1.8.1 based system in another location we don''t have this problem either. Is there a setting I can set for 1.6.5 that allows core dumps? I recall that there was a bug in this area at one time that was fixed, but I don''t know the bug number or what version it was fixed in. The current stable 1.6 release is 1.6.7.2. We upgraded the specific nodes to Lustre 1.6.7.2 and the problem disappeared.
