Hey everyone, I''m looking for the src.rpm package that matches the 1.8.1.1 Redhat kernel (2.6.18-128.7.1.el5) so I can apply a couple of patches to it and rebuild. There was a corresponding src.rpm package for the 1.8.1 series ( kernel-lustre-2.6.18-128.1.14.el5_lustre.1.8.1.src.rpm) On the sun download page I select Source and it seems there are some mis-matches there. Thanks a lot. That kernel is a real time-saver when it comes to "rolling your own".Erik On Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 11:46 AM, Brian J. [Lustre-discuss] Patched Kernel src rpm for 1.8.1.1?
Hello Brian, was there any follow-up on this? We also are sort of stuck without the kernel src.rpm for RHEL5, (kernel-lustre-source-2.6.18-128.7.1.el5_lustre.1.8.1.1.x86_64.rpm or kernel-lustre-2.6.18-128.7.1.el5_lustre.1.8.1.1.src.rpm). Thanks ahead for helping with this! - Andrei. On Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 4:46 PM, Brian J. [Lustre-discuss] Patched Kernel src rpm for 1.8.1.1?
Hi Brian, at the moment (07h00 CET on 29 oct 2009) the src rpm for RHEL kernel is still missing at the download pages, both in the Sources and redhat5-x86_64 sections. The src rpms for other distros like SuSE are instead available. Another missing package which could be very helpful, is the ib_bonding RPM to be used together with the kernel-ib package already available for download. Thanks ahead for looking into this - Andrei. I have asked our release manager to investigate again. Thanx, b. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Brian, Has there been any update on this? I need that patched kernel source to build the SUN RDAC drivers on my OSS''s. I grabbed the unpatched kernel source tarball and built the drivers against those sources but the kernel is still complaining "mppUpper: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module". I downloaded the lustre source for 1.8.1.1 but didn''t see the kernel patches in there. Erik On Thu, Oct 29, 2009 at 1:37 PM, Brian J. You can''t do that. If you are going to load the driver into a patched kernel, you have to build it against the patched kernel.> I downloaded the lustre source for 1.8.1.1 but didn''t see the kernel > patches in there.I think you said you found them, but for the record, they are in the lustre/kernel_patches/... b. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
