Dear list,
when I mount the Lustre filesystem from a 1.8.1 client (which
had been a 1.6.7 client before) I get the following message on
all OSTs:
LustreError: 3877:0:(socklnd_cb.c:2228:ksocknal_recv_hello()) Unknown protocol
version (2.x expected) from 192.168.2.43
There seems to be no problem using Lustre from this client, so
is this just a warning, which can be ignored?
Bye, Ralf

This is a message on the 1.6 server, which doesn''t understand the new protocol the 1.8 client tries to use at first, but then the 1.8 client will fall back to the 1.6 protocol.
