Lustre discuss - Jul 2009 - patchless client - could not determine kernel architecture

Hi,

I am trying to build a patchless client for OpenSuse 11.1 machine. 
# uname -a 
Linux desktop6 2.6.27.23-0.1-default #1 SMP 2009-05-26 17:02:05 -0400 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux

I am getting following error while running configure command on lustre source
code:
# ./configure --with-linux=/usr/src/linux-2.6.27.23-0.1

You will be interested in bug 18668 then.  The various landings on that
bug appear to indicate that SLES 11 is not supported until 1.8.1 (but
don''t quote me on that, that''s just my interpretation from the
various
landings on the bug).  Ahh.  Looking at the roadmap
(http://wiki.lustre.org/index.php?title=Lustre_Roadmap) it does seem to
indicate that 1.8.1 will be the first SLES 11 supporting release.

Perhaps some or all of the patches in that bug will help you.  Or you
can wait for 1.8.1 and see how well it works with OpenSuse 11.
