Lustre discuss - Aug 2007 - how can i connect to the MDT?or how can i start up the MGS

when i mount a client to the server,i meet this problem...

[root@lab-13-rh ~]# mount -t lustre lab-5-rh@tcp0:/testfs /mnt/lustre/client
mount.lustre: mount 192.168.51.155@tcp:/testfs at /mnt/lustre/client failed:
Input/output error
Is the MGS running?


i want to know ,is my MGS running?or there are some other problem?

P.S. i can ping the lab-5-rh,is OK...

Tony,

ssh into the machine lab-5-rh machine (i would assume that lab-5-rh,  
is the MGS server) and do a "df -h" or "mount" you should
see the MGT
mounted on that node. If that machine is the MGS server and if MGT is  
mounted on that machine then we will have to find why you are not  
able to mount lustre.
