Has anyone patched 2.6.16 or newer kernel with a 1.4 version of lustre? Udev in FC6 fails with anything older than 2.6.16. brian

We are using RHEL4 with a 2.6.9 variant (much "older" than 2.6.16). Currently we are using udev on development systems and it seems to work fine. I am curious what you mean when you say that udev fails with a kernel older than 2.6.16...Maybe something we need to be aware of? btw we are using udev-039-10.12 -Herb

The udev interface changed completely between 2.6.15 and 2.6.16, and this makes upgrade across this kernel version difficult (hard to have a working system without anything in /dev).
