I would love to get another one out as soon as possible. What''s gating
us at the moment is
our testing system (ltest), which has been pushed beyond its limits by
the changes for 1.6
among other things. We are in the middle of developing a new test
system from the ground
up, but in the meantime that means we have even less time for
babysitting betas.
We are reluctant to release anything (even for a beta) that has not
undergone our full internal
test suite on multiple platforms; hence our lack of another release.
We have recently decided to again put a little effort to reinvigorating
ltest for the 1.6 betas
for the reasons you mention, and hopefully this will bear fruit soon.
