For Lustre 1.4.7.x, are OSTs identified solely by the order in which they appear in the xml configuration file? In other words, would it be possible to arbitrarily rename OSTs as long as the order in which they were added to the xml configuration file by lmc was preserved (including failover ordering, etc)? Cheers, Ken Smith
OSTs are also identified by a file on each OST''s filesystem called "last_rcvd". To rename the OSTs you need to change the name in the xml file and also on the OST itself. See this article for more info on how to do this- https://mail.clusterfs.com/wikis/lustre/LustreDebugging#head-61cc172832262284f7e960e8e1d49eac9202ae46 -Aaron On Tue, Nov 21, 2006 at 10:14:52AM -0600, Smith, Ken wrote:> For Lustre 1.4.7.x, are OSTs identified solely by the order in which > they appear in the xml configuration file?
