Hi all -- Trying to get a Lustre system running on my G5 mac cluster. I was able to build a patched 2.6.15 kernel for the nodes using the PPC64 cross compiler, but I am failing to get the lustre (1.4.7) package itself built (the modules that need to be PPC64 built - the userspace code built fine with the system compiler). The configure script seems to try to get the cross compilation support, but fails in several different ways (it decides the compiler can''t build modules, doesn''t find the symbols that are defined in linux/config.h because it looked at the local machine instead of the cross-compile environment, etc). Is it possible to hand-configure the environment to build the modules? I poked around at it and it wasn''t clear what exactly I''d have to do. Thanks for any advice. --bob
One other thing - I tried to get to the bugzilla entry referred to here: https://mail.clusterfs.com/pipermail/lustre-discuss/2006-August/ 001909.html https://bugzilla.lustre.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10567 but got Access Denied from bugzilla (I did create an account). thanks, --bob
Hi Bob 10567 is a private bug, which is why you cannot get access to it, but that issue will be fixed in 1.4.7.2 and 1.6. Regards Peter>
Cool. I''ll give the 1.6 beta a try (is it fixed in beta5?) while waiting for the next stable release :-). Thanks, --bob Peter Jones wrote:> Hi Bob > > 10567 is a private bug, which is why you cannot get access to it, but > that issue will be fixed in 1.4.7.2 and 1.6. > > Regards > > Peter > >> >
No, I believe that it just missed beta 5, but will be in all subsequent 1.6 releases. Robert Olson wrote:> Cool. I''ll give the 1.6 beta a try (is it fixed in beta5?) while > waiting for the next stable release :-). > > Thanks, > --bob > > Peter Jones wrote:
I''m trying to plan out my time, and wonder if you know about when the new releases will be out? (I''m not looking for anything precise, just is it days or weeks or months ...) Bob The last information that I had is that 1.4.7.2 is expected out in the next week or two, and 1.6.0 should be a couple of weeks after that.
