Hi, We are pleased to announce the release of Bull lustre administration tools under an Open Source/Free Software license (GPL). See: http://www.bullopensource.org/lustre This release follows feedback we got at last Lustre User Group meeting and at the SGPFS workshop. It will be discussed in the Session 2 of the lustre.org community forum. This release is provided through a patch tested with lustre version 1.4.6.2. http://www.bullopensource.org/lustre/2006-06-28/patch-1.4.6-Bull-2006_06_27.gz It may be a bit rough in certain areas: - Interaction with a postgres database is implemented but not yet documented. - High Availability management using RH Cluster Suite 4 is implemented but is not yet documented. Some choices have been made in a particular context (mainly geared towards "big" lustre clusters), so these may not be a "one fits all" tools. We are open to feedback, and we may implement changes base on this feedback. All you need to know for a quick start using one OST and one MDT on loop devices can be found in README.Bull. http://www.bullopensource.org/lustre/2006-06-28/README.Bull And when you are confident enough to use our tools with real storage, we suggest you to read how_to_fill_storage.conf.pdf: http://www.bullopensource.org/lustre/2006-06-28/how_to_fill_storage.conf.pdf After having discussed with Peter Bojanic, he agreed that lustre-discuss can be used for the feedback (if ever this would generate too much traffic, we will setup a separate mailing-list :-). Enjoy, -- The Bull Lustre Team "Bull Architect of an Open World"TM
