You will see that the MDS has run out of inodes because it is too small (only about 11k inodes). Cheers, Andreas -- Andreas Dilger Principal Software Engineer Cluster File Systems, Inc.
I just setup a test Lustre filesystem to see how migration of the /home directory would pan out. However, while I''m copying files to the newly created partition, it gives me a "No space left on device" error after about 3GB of data is copied to the 120GB test OST. Here''s my current setup: host1 is the MDS, OST, and a client. host2 is a client. My config.sh: rm -f config.xml lmc -m config.xml --add net --node host1 --nid host1 --nettype tcp lmc -m config.xml --add net --node host2 --nid ''*'' --nettype tcp lmc -m config.xml --add mds --node host1 --mds mds-host1 --fstype ldiskfs --dev /dev/rootdg/mds lmc -m config.xml --add lov --lov lov-host1 --mds mds-host1 --stripe_sz 1048576 --stripe_cnt 0 --stripe_pattern 0 lmc -m config.xml --add ost --node host1 --lov lov-host1 --ost ost-host1 --fstype ldiskfs --dev /dev/rootdg/home lmc -m config.xml --add mtpt --node host2 --path /home --mds mds-host1 --lov lov-host1 lmc -m config.xml --add mtpt --node host1 --path /home2 --mds mds-host1 --lov lov-host1 I start on host1 with: lconf --reformat --node host1 /etc/lustre/config.xml I see this in the output of mount: config on /home2 type lustre_lite (rw,osc=lov-host1,mdc=MDC_host1_mds-host1_MNT_host1) I''m trying to sync the /home and /home2 directories with: rsync -av /home/ /home2/ After 3GB of data is copied, I see errors that there is no more space left. I go into /home2 and try a mkdir: /home2# mkdir test mkdir: cannot create directory `test'': No space left on device The output of df -h /home2: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on config 119G 3.0G 110G 3% /home2 The output of lfs df: UUID 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on mds-host1_UUID 46576 9048 37528 19 /home2[MDT:0] ost-host1_UUID 123854820 9382160 114472660 7 /home2[OST:0] filesystem summary: 123854820 9382160 114472660 7 /home2
