[Lustre-discuss] Two questions - Lustre for webhosting, and Lustre for FreeBSD?
We use lustre here for a webhosting cluster. Works great. Only caveat is that failover isn''t fast as it relies on all clients reconnecting, so you can see high pauses when a machine falls over. How ever it has been quite stable with failover only required during server upgrades. mike wrote:>I saw somewhere FreeBSD support for Lustre is planned... any ETA or >information on that? The roadmap doesn''t specifically call it out.No, there''s no port to FreeBSD planned at this time. If you go ahead with Lustre on Linux, though, we''re happy to help. -Phil

I saw somewhere FreeBSD support for Lustre is planned... any ETA or information on that? The roadmap doesn''t specifically call it out. Also, I''m looking at using Lustre for a webhosting cluster. Does anyone have any words of advice, caution, or anything worthwhile to share regarding that? Thanks, mike
