here is what i do to test the mdsfailover.
my conf:
#create nodes
lmc -o test.xml --add node --node client
lmc -m test.xml --add node --node metaserver1
lmc -m test.xml --add node --node metaserver2
lmc -m test.xml --add node --node obsd
#configure nodes
lmc -m test.xml --add net --node client --nid "*" --nettype tcp
lmc -m test.xml --add net --node metaserver1 --nid 202.114.16.8 --nettype tcp
lmc -m test.xml --add net --node metaserver2 --nid 202.114.16.9 --nettype tcp
lmc -m test.xml --add net --node obsd --nid 202.114.16.10 --nettype tcp
#configure mds server
lmc -m test.xml --add mds --node metaserver1 --mds mds1 --fstype ext3 --dev
/tmp/mds1 --size 102400
lmc -m test.xml --add mds --node metaserver2 --mds mds1 --fstype ext3 --dev
/tmp/mds1 --size 102400
#the two directores named /tmp/mds1 is the same nfs exported directory.I use
nfs for the shared storage.
#configure ost
lmc -m test.xml --add lov --lov lov1 --mds mds1 --stripe_sz 4096 --stripe_cnt 0

lmc -m test.xml --add ost --node obsd --lov lov1 --ost ost1 --fstype ext3 --dev

also,i used LDAP.
then,startup the lustre on all the nodes,and it's OK.
on the metaserver1,stop the lustre service:
lconf -d --node metaserver1 --ldapurl ldapserver --config test.xml
then,on the metaserver2:
lactive --ldapurl ldapserver --config test.xml --active metaserver2
#no error
lconf --node metaserver2 --ldapurl ldapserver --config test.xml
#here is a msg: mds1_UUID not active
what wrong I want to know.any advice is welcome.
