Absolutely no certainty. We have an old prototype to show that it works,
but we have not begun a production version.
Also, to clear up any potential confusion, this feature would really be to
take advantage of existing SANs, by allowing clients to read and write file
data directly to the disks.
But the fundamental architecture would not change: object servers would
still manage allocation and locking and so on, and be the masters of who got
to write where on the disks. All of that traffic would still pass over
Ethernet or similar, but the actual file data would use the FC.
Our customers have yet to tell us if this is really something we should
spend time on.
Thanks--
