You''re welcome to rummage through bugzilla, but in all likelihood you''ll need to download a newer version. Thanks-- -Phil

So is there a patch out there for this bug? Or do I need to download a version of Lustre for this thanks take care -A -- Ananda Bhattacharya (bhattach@us=2Eibm=2Ecom) CustomComputing Phone (507) 253-3812 3605 Highway 52 North, Rochester, Minnesota 55901-7829 -- It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles=2E Then the victory is yours=2E It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell=2E -Buddha Andreas Dilger <adilger@clusterf s=2Ecom> To Sent by: Jean-Fran=E7ois Rousseau lustre-discuss-ad <jrousseau@sys-tech=2Enet> min@lists=2Ecluster cc fs=2Ecom lustre-discuss@clusterfs=2Ecom Subject Re: [Lustre-discuss] Problem with 12/16/2004 12:43 1=2E0=2E4 PM On Dec 14, 2004 14:24 -0500, Jean-Fran=E7ois Rousseau wrote:> We''ve setup lustre 1=2E0=2E4 for a testbench but we have some problem=2E > > First: When I delete a file from a client, others client don''t see the > change=2E They can''t accesss the file anymore but the file is still listed=2EThere was a bug like this long ago, but it has been fixed=2E> We want to evaluate the possibility of using lustre for shared storage of > about 50 nodes but this bug is really stalling the project=2E > > Does anybody have a clue of what is happening ? I have used lustre in debian for some time. there are no packages as of yet, but you can build the kernel and source of lustre on debian machines and mount the filesystems evan On Thu, 2004-12-16 at 17:41 -0500, Christopher Alexander Stein wrote:> Hi, Does anyone here have experience installing and running > Lustre on Debian Linux ? Hi, Does anyone here have experience installing and running Lustre on Debian Linux ? Thanks, Lex
Lustre folks, A nifty capability today is having a Lustre client export a Lustre filesystem over NFS Version 3, or Samba. This is handy for those clients that can''t speak Lustre. ( Legacy systems and interop story ) I believe there are some patches to the Linux NFS server code that exist today that make things play nicely. ( Examples: Changes for intents (CFS) , and pass through of lock ops to the local clustered filesystem. (IBM &SuSe) ) Ok.. That''s cool. In the future, (Debian W, Fedora core X, Suse Y, and RH AS) there is, or will be NFS Version 4. ( I know, it''s not soup yet, but its moving in that direction) My question is: Does CFS have patches for the Linux NFS V4 code that enable Lustre to be exported over NFS V4 ? If not, would anyone care to make a guess on when that might become available ? Also, it would be convienient if Lustre and NFS V4 were happily traversing IPV6. Any guesses on that would be helpful too :-) I know, you already gave me a talking frog, and now I want it to speak French, juggle and tap dance ! Sort of, but I''m more curious on when my cultured frog might take the stage, for planning purposes. ( functional testing, performance testing, interop testing, connectathons, bakeathons, and so on.) Enjoy, Don Capps capps at iozone dot com
For Sandia, Red Storm must support NFS 4 at some point. Our use of DFS must sunset soon. LANL is working very hard to make sure the gss api support in NFS 4 is robust for the tri-lab and much depends on the results of that work. It''s looking pretty good though. So... We are very interested in NFS 4 and are counting on it. The time-line isn''t fixed and hard though, as far as I know. A "priority"? I wouldn''t *quite* go that far. It''s going to be, though. Probably in the next calendar year I would guess. Not alot of light, I know. Just FYI. --Lee On Wed, 2004-12-22 at 13:55, Phil Schwan wrote:> Hi Don-- > > On 12/14/2004 18:12, Capps@iozone.org wrote: > > > > Ok.. That''s cool. Hi, We''ve setup lustre 1.0.4 for a testbench but we have some problem. First: When I delete a file from a client, others client don''t see the change. They can''t accesss the file anymore but the file is still listed. We want to evaluate the possibility of using lustre for shared storage of about 50 nodes but this bug is really stalling the project. Does anybody have a clue of what is happening ? Should I give you my syslog or dmesg ?
