[Lustre-discuss] Could ONE Lustre file system act as multiplelogical file systems?
Dear Prof. Phil Schwan, IF it is possible to serve multiple Lustre file systems from a single MDS, does it mean that multiple file systems are not know each other, but one MDS can parse them. Then how to configure this case? Could you give us a sample? Thanks. BTW, are there any classic applications which store it''s data into Lustre file system so that it will use many network bandwidth? If have, please list some of it. Thanks once more. It is not possible to mount a sub-directory of a Lustre namespace as the root, which is I think what you are asking for. This feature is on our roadmap, but I do not know precisely when it will enter the production code. Just in case I didn''t understand your question correctly, I will mention two other things: - standard UNIX permissions are 100% supported, and - it is possible to serve multiple Lustre file systems from a single MDS I hope that helps-- -Phil
