Like using ethernet bonding device. You do not need multiple NICs for failover, one is fine. The usual way to do Lustre failover with TCP is to use a program like "heartbeat", which runs a script to do IP takeover and start the Lustre service when a node fails. You can bond multiple devices in the kernel, and run Lustre over the bonded device. With some minor improvements to our configuration tools, future versions of Lustre will manage multiple NICs without kernel bonding, somewhat more efficiently. Hope that helps-- -Phil
Hello, I'm new to lustre. I've tried to find the answers from the documents, but couldn't find it. As you can see in the title, I'd like to know if we need additional NIC for failover. And, can we use dual port for Data transfer? Like using ethernet bonding device. <br> <br> <P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=4>שלום צליכם מאת ארוננו ישוצ המשיח</FONT></P><hr color="Gray"> <table width="585" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td><a href="http://webmail.intizen.com/webmail.dll?accessfooter&name=mymedia&url=http://mm.intizen.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://image.intizen.com/image/mail_event.gif" width="582" height="55" border="0"></a></td> </tr> </table> <img src="http://webmail.intizen.com/webmail.dll?confirm&ukey=40f738cd4fb1fea9114a3074&recv=ashuaria" width=0 height=0 border=0>
