Lustre devel - Jun 2007 - How Lustre manage its data object?

Hello,

I have noticed that lustre is based on ext3 disk format(mkfs.ext2 -j -b 4096
-L testfs-MDTffff  -i 4096 -I 512 -q -O dir_index -F
/dev/hda7
>/tmp/mkfs_logAjEoA6 2), but I don?t know how ost to manage its disk data
and how mds to organize ost?s data objects. 

I just read some papers about Object Storage Protocol, but I dnot know how
luster manage its data object on mds and oss , Could anyone help me?

Lustre stores metadata in EA on each file on MDS (struct lov_mds_md in the
"lov" EA), which points to objects on each OST by OST index.
