2007-03-11: support for SLES10 is OK in 1.4.9, b1_4; 1.6 beta builds fail for

remaining problems are:
- (1.6): readlink() prototype mismatch in libsysio and unistd.h for 
  SLES10/i686 platform. The fix from b1_4 is already applied to HEAD,
  needs testing.
- (1.4, 1.6): ext3 fsck from the lustre ftp site does not support -f flag
   as SLES10 rc scripts require - BZ 11729.
