Lustre devel - Jun 2006 - CFS Training Sessions: Level I, Level II, Lustre Internals

CFS is pleased to announce 3 training courses during the week of  
6/26/2006 near Denver, Colorado.  The courses will span from beginner  
Lustre Administration & Support Training to Advanced Lustre Training  
for developers and administrators who already have an understanding  
of the Lustre File System.

Additionally, CFS will be holding a series of open source  
collaboration meetings nightly during this same week.

Location:
The session is expected to be held outside Denver in Boulder,  
Colorado USA.  Additional details about the location will be provided  
over the next few weeks.

Agenda:

CLASS 1: LEVEL I LUSTRE ADMINISTRATION & SUPPORT
Day 1 (Monday, June 26)
  - understanding Lustre
  - architecting and profiling a Lustre cluster
Day 2 (Tuesday, June 27):
  - configuring Lustre
  - hands on lab
Day 3 (Wednesday, June 28):
  - troubleshooting Lustre
  - certification exam for level 1 Lustre support
Course Cost: $2,000

CLASS 2: LEVEL II ADVANCED LUSTRE SUPPORT
Day 1 (Wednesday, June 28)
- Advanced Lustre Support (part 1)
Day 2 (Thursday, June 29)
- Advanced Lustre Support (part 2)
The advanced Lustre support course will give in-depth and systematic  
guidance for:
(1) troubleshooting Lustre
(2) deploying Lustre
(3) Lustre internals & protocols introduction
(4) bug analysis
Course Cost: $1,500

CLASS 3:  LUSTRE INTERNALS
Day 1 (Wednesday, June 28)
- Advanced Lustre Support (part 1)
Day 2 (Thursday, June 29)
- Advanced Lustre Support (part 2)
Day 3 (Friday, June 30)
- Lustre Internals
The advanced Lustre support course is a combination of the Advanced  
Lustre Support Class and an overview of the internal workings of the  
Lustre File System.  The internals course will cover:
(1) understanding the Lustre code base
(2) network subsystem
(3) configuration subsystem
(4) IO
(5) metadata
(6) recovery
(7) development and debugging practices
Course Cost: $2,500

Lustre.org Discussions:
On 6/27, 6/28, 6/29, following the course in the late afternoon and  
evening there will be discussions of open source Lustre  
collaborations.  The is a $200 charge to contribute to expenses for  
the lustre.org meetings, which is waived if any course is attended.
