This is a bug in the ntp package, and I am reassigning it accordingly.
In case you're wondering, the offending regex is
^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ ntpdate\[[0-9]+\]: step time server [
Clearly some condition is meant to go at the end there :)
